Tourist attractions and places worth visiting
USA
Lincoln National Forest, New Mexico
Location
Lincoln National Forest is comprised of several separate sections, all
in the southern Rocky Mountains of New
Mexico.
Description
From Alamogordo, New Mexico, US82 heads
east, enters the Lincoln National Forest and climbs rapidly up to the touristy
little town of Cloudcroft. From Cloudcroft New Mexico State Road 244 head
north through some extremely pleasant ranching/framing country similar
to that in many parts of Colorado. Being short of time, we took US70 west
back to Alamogordo, but it seems very likely that New Mexico State Roads
48 and 37, north of US70, are also scenic.
