The road from Asheville, North Carolina
to Marietta, Ohio is in the main part
an excellent divided highway through wooded mountain scenery, making for
a very pleasant day's drive through six states. The road goes through and
over a great number of extremely impressive cuttings, viaducts and bridges
along the way. There are also a few short sections where you have to use
two-lane roads, mainly in those places where the new highway is not finished
yet.
